The 2020 Brisbane State High School Captains Tess Lynn and Ethan Willis, and Vice-Captains Mia Norman and Issei Stephenson, are demonstrating grit in their Prefect goals for the year.

Their initiative, The State High Family, aims to increase State High Spirit, a sense of belonging and support across school activities. These students are strong leaders and achievers with dedication to this great school. Tess has participated in State High’s international programs to Germany and Borneo and is excited to represent the Blue-Red-Blue in Wind Orchestra and QGSSSA Cross Country and Touch Football. Tess said, “Next year, I can’t wait to travel and pursue my passion for the health industry.”

Ethan has represented State High in GPS Cricket, Cross Country, Rugby and Volleyball and competed in the Queensland School Sport program. He has also volunteered at school events and as a Peer Supporter.

Ethan said, “I am passionate about working towards future study in agribusiness and livestock science.”

Mia has demonstrated leadership as a Junior School Leader, Peer Supporter, Captain for Girls Crew (Dance) and QGSSSA Senior Softball and a Junior Softball coach. She has also been involved in BSRA Rowing, QGSSSA Touch Football and the 2019 School Production. Mia said, “Next year, I plan to study Sport Psychology.” Issei has demonstrated leadership through coaching GPS Football and as a Peer Supporter. He has also participated in GPS Volleyball, Football and Basketball. Issei said, “After Year 12, I am looking into the field of Aviation, preferably in the Royal Australian Air Force.”
