The 2021 Anywhere Festival continues until May 23 with performances set across Queensland’s hidden venues.

These performances range from theatre, circus, music, comedy, dance, spoken word, cabaret to magic and welcomes local performers as well as interstate and international acts into nooks and crannies that are being transformed into performing spaces.

These spaces are areas such as ferry stops, warehouses, backyards, homes, bars, jetty’s and anywhere that’s unexpected with over 100 locations and 600 performances. The venues are in Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa, and for those still looking to participate from afar, there is a digital program of online shows you can experience from anywhere.

The festival debuted with immersive productions Shelter at Farrier Bar Fortitude Valley, Time Travel Cafe at Canvas Club Woolloongabba and Cluedo! The New Suspects at Baedeker Fortitude Valley amongst other productions. From May 6 to May 23, Your Moreton Bay Music: Bite Markets will bring local music and tasty foods to this free event in North Harbour, Morayfield. Across various dates are the improvised accordion and guitar musical act titled Tight Squeeze holding shows in Moreton Bay. Libby Myer’s musical performance, I Felt Unfettered and Alive is scheduled for May 7 to May 22.

Free performance, LanternHead is set to a be a hit with audiences looking for something different and is set across various locations in Brisbane. Story-driven escape room The Shelter, presented by Here & There Productions, will be showcased as a part of the festival in Annerley from May 10 to May 23. The festival has something for everyone, with cabaret performance Pink Martini Pop Up Cabaret perfect for those looking to add a bit of spice to their week, and for those looking for a mystery, you can listen to an improvised conspiracy in The Black Dossier by Edge Improv.
