While Domino’s are predominately in the pizza business, however the company also believe in giving back to the community. On the fourth Wednesday of each month, Domino’s donates pizzas to feed the homeless in West End through Community Friends. Its involvement in this initiative began in 2016, with Community Friends established in 2011.
Community Friends helps people who are homeless and those in need by giving people food, clothing, shoes, blankets and support. It also helps connect those most at need with other support services including counselling and health services. At the heart of Community Friends is the fact all services and assistance is donated free of charge.
Domino’s believe it is its responsibility as a good corporate citizen to always act with integrity and respect, and to work closely with the local communities in which it operates. CEO for Domino’s Australia and New Zealand Nick Knight believes it is a great initiative and one that Domino’s are very proud to support. “Connecting Domino’s with the community is really important to us,” said Nick. “When we can, our staff from head office make their way to our store on Boundary Street, set up a table and offer 50 different varieties of piping hot pizza, garlic bread and soft drink to the group. We welcome those in need to come by, see a friendly face and enjoy a hot meal on us.”
Australian based organisations may request Domino’s sponsorship or donation through their Give for Good program.
