Queensland açaí bar specalist Kiss The Berry is set to launch its fifth location this week in West End.
Founded by young entrepreneur Sarah Miller in 2013, the opening of the fifth Kiss the Berry at 3/187 Melbourne Street will be launched over a weekend packed with activity. The Berries’ will be throwing a Grand Opening party on Sunday the 11 of November – giving away 200 free snack açaí bowls to the first 200 in line. The store’s design has been inspired by the laid-back culture of West End and offers a dine-in experience as well as the usual grab and go option. Kiss the Berry has joined forces with its
Woolloongabba neighbour Coffee Surpreme to provide high quality coffee to accompany its meals.
Raised in a sporting family and inspired by her travels, Sarah first discovered açaí during a stay in Austin, Texas as part of a ‘self-discovery’ gap year from the Queensland University of Technology. Opening her first store at the tender age of nineteen, Sarah’s passion and tenacity have led to the success of her business, growing from her first stall at the Eagle Farm Markets to the four burgeoning Kiss The Berry stores in operation today.
Sarah always felt the university path was not for her. “I knew I didn’t want to be studying Business and Design,” she says. “I wanted to venture into something I was truly passionate about – food and community have always been of the utmost importance to me.” It was that first açaí bowl in Austin that compelled Sarah to start a business focused on the superfood that was relatively unknown in Australia at the time. After eight months at the Eagle Farm Markets, Sarah launched her first pop-up space, before officially opening her first Kiss the Berry store in Brisbane City.
Kiss the Berry West End is open to the public from 7am on Friday 9 November. Sarah will be focusing the remainder of 2018 on launching Kiss the Berry’s first e-book.
