Applause filled the QPAC Concert Hall, as red petals fell softly on the close of Opera Queensland’s opening night of A Flowering Tree on Tuesday 2 April. The first of three 2019 mainstage productions, audience members were treated to spellbinding performances by Korean-born local soprano Eva Kong – as the transformative Kumudha – and co-stars Adrian Dwyer and Craig Colclough, whose characters appeared larger-than-life on the 12-metre projection screen high above the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and angelic Opera Queensland Chorus. This Helpmann Award winning production will play until Saturday 6 April.
