Brisbane independent theatrical producers, Lynch & Paterson have just unveiled their 2020 Season for South-Eastern Queensland. Lynch & Paterson specialise in producing unique and vibrant shows presented in a multitude of venues throughout Brisbane and the greater region.
Lucas D. Lynch and Samantha Paterson launched their season in a stylish fashion at the Princess Theatre in Woolloongabba. Lynch is a composer, pianist, conductor, musical director, and producer. Among his other talents, in 2019 he was the guest pianist and assistant conductor for Queensland Ballet’s Dangerous Liaisons. Co-Creator Paterson is a performer and musical director with a passion for the industry. Samantha is often commissioned to compose and arrange for choir and theatrical companies around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
“We are so excited to be presenting eight productions in 2020. With something special or magical in each show, this is going to be a year to treasure,” Ms Paterson said. Kicking off the year is the hilarious The Pirates of Penzance, featuring Nathan Kneen as the Pirate King. Throughout South-East Queensland, Lynch & Paterson will tour two productions: Divas of the Stage, and A Morning with Bernstein. Divas is a celebration of Broadway and Pop’s greatest female artists, while Bernstein will be an encore season of the musical collection from West Side Story‘s great composer Leonard Bernstein.
Lynch & Paterson will also present two spectacular concerts each featuring the works of one highly awarded/recognised composer. The first, A Celebration of Stephen Sondheim honours Sondheim’s 90th birthday and his intricate and exciting songs (Sweeny Todd, Into the Woods, Company); and second, Music of John Williams will showcase Williams’most iconic film scores including Star Wars, Harry Potter, E.T. and, Jaws.
The company will present three Andrew Lloyd Webber works in 2020. Requiem, Song and Dance, and smash-hit rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Tickets for all productions are available now.
