Summer is sweet at The Stores Grocer in the West End are showing off their patisserie skills with a range of goodies to bring sweet sunlight to any gathering.
The kitchen team headed by the very talented Milanese chef Jacopo Corbetta and pâtissier Daryl Willmott have a delicate, soulful take on cakes and pastries available in store ready-to-go or eat inhouse, and of course favourites can be ordered in advance for those special celebratory occasions. For those who have not met pâtissier Daryl Willmott, he comes with amazing credentials having worked and created in highly awarded restaurants the likes of ecco in Brisbane, Byron Bay’s Rae’s on Wategos, Margaret River’s Brooklyn Valley and many other similar high-profile establishments.
Jacopo and Daryl’s creations are rich and decadent without being overwhelming, like a vanilla butter cake with vanilla icing and Valrhona milk chocolate ‘caramelia’ pearls, and a Valrhona chocolate cake with dark chocolate icing and Valrhona chocolate pearls. For something less unctuous The Stores Grocer kitchen offer rhubarb custard crumble tart, gluten-free flourless orange cake and a changing selection of irresistible favourites, including lemon meringue tart, Portuguese tart and tiramisu. GF and Vegan dietaries have not been forgotten…

At the deli you’ll find smallgoods from local artisans as well as the iconic European suppliers, the very best handmade cheeses from all over the world, and a tremendous range of local and imported charcuterie.
On the corner block across from the Queensland Ballet on Montague Road West, The Stores Grocer is the hub of a bustling food precinct, incorporating The Source bulk foods and the Ehden bistro and bar -inside the historic corner building.
