Soak up the electric atmosphere at APT10 Festival on Sat 23 and Sun 24 April. Enjoy a day out with the family, or gather your art-loving besties and celebrate the closing weekend of ‘The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT10).
Delight in art, music, dance, workshops, storytelling, food and more across outdoor and indoor stages. APT10 Festival is free and fun for all ages, and events hosted on the Maiwar Green outside GOMA will be live streamed and Auslan interpreted. For those visiting in the final weeks of APT10, the Gallery is open from 12pm on Monday 25 April for ANZAC Day. The Gallery is open 10am to 5pm all other days.
There will be 140 plus artists and permformers and 40 plus events with fun for all ages. Events during APT10 Festival include a performance extravagazna. Enjoy a vibrant Sunday afternoon with nine of Queensland’s best performance groups. There will be talks and demonstations. Hear from artists and special guests as they explore big ideas in art and culture. Pop-up Performances at QAG and GOMA will feature Brisbane Pride Choie and APT10 artist Brian Fuata.
Other highlights include workshops – embrace your creativity with four art-making workships designed by APT10 artists, a story garden – be captivated by stories from Asia Pacific region told by local storytellers through spoken word, dance and song. APT10 Cinema: Bluey will take over Cinema B at GOMA where you can drop in all day to enjoy a delightful collection of family friendly episodes.
There will be food and bars with a tantalising selection of fare on offer at GOMA Bistro, GOMA Restaurant, QAG Cafe, Newstead Coastal Bar and pop-up food trucks.
