Travel media company Lonely Planet has released its latest guidebook, entitled Everyday Adventures, about embracing “the traveler spirit closer to home”.

Packed full of inspiration to rediscover somewhere familiar, or to help explore a new destination when travelling, the activities explored within the book prove travelers do not need to spend big or travel far for great adventures. The 50 “everyday adventures” in the book include themed tours and adventures, how to take inspiration from food, music and books, and ways to leave the journey in the hands of fate (or others!). Each activity is accompanied by simple, easy-to-follow instructions, ideas on things to bring and a case study from someone who has completed it, as well as surprising facts and anecdotes that shed light on the history and science behind each quirky quest.

Weave a little wonder into daily life and seek out urban solitude, take directions from a stranger, or do a good deed in the local community. Whatever adventure suits the mood, Everyday Adventures will inspire exploring closer to home, discovering a new side to the local community.

The host of themed adventures within the book include Follow Your Nose, Make-Believe Backpacking, Zero-Budget Day Out, Walk a Line, Commute Touring, and Pint-Sized Tour Guide, which encourages readers to appoint a child as the tour guide for a unique and gleeful day out.
