Lonely Planet’s Ultimate Travel Quiz Book challenges readers with 2000 brain-teasers, ranging from easy to hard, in a definitive trivia book. Pit your worldly wits against family and friends, or just challenge yourself.

“This book is billed as a ‘travel’ quiz, but really it’s an ‘everything’ quiz,” writes editor Joe Fullman in his Introduction. “After all, travel is about experiencing all the world has to offer, so we’ve tried to cram as much of the planet into these pages as we can. You’ll be tested on everything from capitals to currencies, tallest buildings to longest rivers, national dishes to international airports, ancient empires to modern art galleries, the deepest lakes to the biggest oceans, and even outer space – perhaps the greatest travel adventure of all.”

Questions readers will be delighted with range from naming capital cities close to the Equator, finding countries that share a border with China, exploring the driest deserts on Earth, sampling different cultural cuisines and citing famous filmography from all around the world. Lonely Planet’s Ultimate Travel Quiz Book is split into three chapters: Day-Tripper,  Traveller, and Explorer. The first is a gentle introduction to the world of travel quizzing, the second section is a bit more challenging, and the final chapter takes it up another notch, with downright fiendish questions.

There are 100 quizzes in all, most of which have 20 questions, amounting to the 2000 grand total. The majority are general knowledge, covering a wide selection of topics and regions – the whole planet is represented. Lonely Planet has also included a few themed rounds to test readers’ expertise of a particular subject, including books, museums, film locations, landmarks, sports venues, wildlife and more.
