Always wanted to attend a Bring A Plate dance class but have not quite mustered up the courage yet?

This June, the South East Queensland based inclusive dance company is offering first-time groovers the opportunity to try a class for free with Bring A Mate to Bring A Plate. For the entire month, Bring A Plate is offering one free class per person to anyone who has never attended a boogie session before, as long as you go along with a paying friend.

Class times are Mondays 6.30pm to 7.30pm outside the GOMA entrance, and Saturdays 9.30am to 10.30am behind GOMA near Kurilpa Bridge entrance.

The class is designed to be safe and supportive space for everyone, with a stretch session and a guided groove-based warm up followed by a short choreography to a different artist each week. You can go as you are, in comfortable clothes with a water bottle for hydration. Bring A Plate’s experienced facilitators say they will ensure all bodies can join in the movement.

“The culture I grew up in was completely devoid of dance,” said Andy Reid, class attendee. “Then six months ago someone invited me to Bring a Plate and now I love dancing so much. The atmosphere is so positive and uplifting, and all the people there are lovely and encouraging. For a beginner it’s such a brilliant way to learn dance, every time I go I feel free and have so much fun!” he said.

Fresh from performing at Jungle Love Festival, Mad Dance Festival, Yonder Festival and One Trick Pony Club, Bring A Plate boasts being bigger and better than ever before. So, combat those first class jitters by bringing a mate along. All ages, abilities and bodies are welcome at classes.
