In response to the increased global demand for chemical sanitising products, Brisbane Distillery has begun manufacturing alcohol-based hand sanitiser, available for purchase by healthcare workers and consumers.
Following communications with Queensland’s COVID-19 taskforce over the weekend, Brisbane Distillery‘s major objective is ensuring frontline healthcare workers have access to the products they need to continue treating and containing COVID-19 in the safest possible way. “A lot of friends who are doctors have told me that they have run out of sanitising products—this prompted me to investigate how we could repurpose the products and equipment we have here at the distillery,” says owner and head distiller Jon Atherton.
Healthcare workers will be able to purchase the sanitising product in 20L units at a discounted rate (upon presentation of a business card or professional registration on collection), while the public can purchase in five litre, two litre, and 500ml units. With the manufacturing of hand sanitiser taking over the inner-city distillery’s entire facility, all upcoming Gin School sessions at Brisbane Distillery have been suspended, but vouchers are available so fans and future master distillers can continue to support the business Vouchers can also be redeemed on Brisbane Distillery‘s range of vodka, gin and agricole rhum, which continue to be available for purchase online.
Brisbane Distillery‘s hand sanitiser can now be ordered for collection at the distillery at 99 Jane Street, West End. Orders can be placed at www.bstill.com.au, and will be processed in order of priority.
