From now until Christmas, The Stores Grocer in West End has everything ready to feed your friends and family and make your Christmas Day table a stress-free success.

From seasonings and sauces, salads and sides, platter-ready antipasto cheese boxes and the freshest Australian seafood, to a celebration of sweet festive favourites, the Stores kitchen team headed by Milanese chef Jacopo Corbetta have created a comprehensive ‘nice’ list of Christmas favourites, including supplies of Australia’s finest free-range meats for a carol-worthy Christmas roast. “This time of year should be special,” said Jacopo, “and we can give you that extra level of quality it’s difficult to achieve yourself, whether you want a treat or a feast for family and friends.”

A seasonal feast with all the trimmings

The Stores Grocer has created a tempting selection of Christmas cakes, puddings, biscuits and chocolates, and classics sides like brandy butter and custard. Seasonally-inspired sweets range from rich chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, and port-soaked cherry and white chocolate pavlova, to delicate strawberry and cream mini meringues.

To make life easier, there’s pre-packed boxes of produce for roasting, salads and fruit platters, more than a dozen different gift hampers with themes like ‘chili lovers’, ‘sweet tooth’ and ‘just add vodka’ for the dedicated foodie – you can even order real Christmas pine trees from the Stores Grocer, freshly cut.

For those who want to spend more time enjoying life this festive season instead of preparing for it, visit the Stores Grocer website or in person to see the full range on offer, and talk with the staff about your needs; they have an amazing range of goodies arriving in-store over the coming weeks.

As red and tender as Santa’s cheeks

True to form, the Stores Grocer have sourced limited quantities of meat from Australia’s leading artisanal producers. All you have to do is make your selection, place your order, and the centrepiece of your Christmas feast will be ready to collect.

Craftsman Dylan Seager heads the Stores team of expert butchers, who can guide their customers through the provenance and flavour of every cut and how best to cook it. “We’ve been able to source the most amazing meats, and although we have the classic roasts and ham, our range also reflects changing tastes for the Christmas season,” said Dylan.

There’s choice of roast pork, fully boned and rolled porchetta with fennel, chilli and lemon or a rolled loin with spiced fig stuffing as well as the Stores own leg ham, glazed or not, or the succulence of suckling pig, trussed and ready to go.

The Stores Grocer have a limited supply of award-winning heritage breed Sommerlad chicken from Braemeadows near Townsville, and a selection of free-range chicken Ballantine or roast chicken with lemon and garlic, whole ducks, and turkey whole or as a boneless stuffed breast. Seafood from The Stores Grocer is fresh and never frozen: cooked prawns and Moreton Bay bugs are available by the kilogram, oysters by the dozen, plate-sized snapper, and salmon and kingfish are yours whole and in fillets, smoked or cured, from Harris Smokehouse and Ora King.

The Stores butchery prepare everything in-store, from their own sausages, to prime cuts of lamb ready to roast and beef from Cape Grim in northern Tasmania and other producers from iconic beef locations throughout Australia, aged as whole joints for six weeks in a salt-lined cabinet for a richer flavour and eye-fillet levels of tenderness, whatever the cut. Of course, then there are the wines, craft beers, locally made gins, vodkas, liqueurs, cocktails, non-alcoholic mixes and other quality beverages, to make any festive occasion sing!
