A full Playhouse Theatre marked the beginning of Queensland Theatre’s Season 2019 with a standing ovation for the opening night of Death of a Salesman on Thursday 7 February. Widely lauded as one of the greatest plays of the 20th Century, winning countless awards, going on to be revived on Broadway four times and regularly adapted for cinema and television, guests said the show was a standout, directed by stage powerhouse Jason Klarwein and led by actors Peter Kowitz as Willy Loman and Angie Milliken as Linda Loman, the audience hung on every word, every step. Seventy years on from its Broadway debut, Arthur Miller’s towering classic is arguably as relevant now as it was in 1949.
