To celebrate International Doughnut Day today (Friday 7 June), Doughnut Time in South Bank challenged its rival with an exclusive one-day offer for doughnut lovers nationwide.
For customers who receive a competitors’ free glazed doughnut – Doughnut Time will make their Friday a ‘hole’ lot better, by providing a free upgrade to a deluxe Doughnut Time flavour. “We think that on International Doughnut Day people deserve the full experience, and only the gold class of doughnut flavours will do,” Doughnut Time owner Peter Andros said. “The first 100 people who bring a competitor’s glazed doughnut to any of our stores this Friday can trade in a basic freebie for their favourite, made-fresh Doughnut Time flavour.”
International Doughnut Day also coincides with the announcement that Doughnut Time will be opening a brand-new store in Melbourne’s inner-city Hawthorn next week. Doors are slated to open on Friday 14 June, six months after Andros and the team officially brought Doughnut Time back to fans in December last year. “It only seems like yesterday we were celebrating our launch in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall. We have had a huge year, and people are stoked that Doughnut Time is back,” Andros said. “Doughnut Time is all about making people smile, and seeing everyone come into our stores, taking pictures and laughing with friends has made all the hard work worth it.”
Hawthorn will be Doughnut Time’s second Melbourne location, after their Degraves Street store opened last month. The brand will have six stores across Australia, in both Queensland and Victoria.
Aussie customers have proven they’ve still got a ‘hole lotta love’ for Doughnut Time, with the Nutella filled Love At First Bite and ice cream-inspired It’s Always A Gaytime continuing to be fan favourites. Doughnut Time will also released an exclusive flavour on International Doughnut Day – created and chosen by fans.
