Eco Meal Prep has launched one of Australia’s first Bento Glass Meal Prep Containers as a safer alternative to disposable plastic options.

The range offers optimised and non-toxic portion control for meal preparation, and is made of thermal, shock-resistant, high borosilicate glass. The reusable product is also dishwasher, freezer, microwave and oven safe. James Thai, the founder of Eco Meal Prep, says the containers are not only environmentally friendly, but a healthier option too. “I truly believe that the world needs these containers, starting with Australia,” he said. “Just five per cent of plastics are recycled effectively, while 40 per cent end up in landfill. Buying and throwing away pre-cooked single-use meals in plastic containers seems very convenient, but this quick fix is neither sustainable for our health nor the environment.”

The containers feature dividers that are built-in to allow food to be separated in multiple compartments, as well as BPA-free lids with removable seals that close over the dividers to prevent spilling between compartments. They also feature removable hinge-lock clips for enhanced durability. Bento Glass meal prep containers are free from BPA, PVC, and phthalate, and do not contain petroleum-based plastics that can leach toxins into food.

Thai said, “the Bento Glass material is more durable than regular glass. It can also be recycled efficiently. Unlike plastic containers that can leach chemicals into food, it is built to resist extreme temperature changes and is absolutely safe to use.”

The containers come in two sizes for added convenience.
