Emporium Hotels South Bank, one of Australia’s luxury boutique hotel brands, has appointed new General Manager Charles Martin.

Martin is responsible for managing the diverse range of accommodation, dining and residential services that Emporium Hotels is awarded for. At 27, Martin is one of the youngest General Managers of a five-star luxury hotel property in the nation.

Graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing and Real Estate & Development), Martin spent several years working for Ernst & Young’s advisory practice across finance, mining, government and property industries, before moving to Aussie Home Loans in property and operations. Martin is a vocal member of the Brisbane community and, drawing on his extensive knowledge of business and property, is also an active board member of Business South Bank (BSB), an organisation that influences business success in the South Bank precinct by connecting, informing, advocating and promoting the precinct as an active and vibrant community.

Martin said, “I’m proud to be part of Emporium Hotels’ evolution and the projects I have worked on to-date with the Anthony John Group. I have the privilege to be leading a dedicated team of hospitality professionals, backed by the unwavering passion and support of Anthony and Francine John. Emporium Hotel South Bank is a truly exquisite property, which is already setting new boundaries in the industry in terms of bespoke design, innovative culinary offerings and genuine professional service. It’s an incredible hotel and it’s an honour to be the General Manager and responsible for the next chapter in the brand’s success”.

Martin will lead a team of approximately 200 across 143 luxury accommodation suites, 220 premium residential apartments, four food and beverage outlets, conference and events spaces, and world-class rooftop lifestyle facilities, within the $600 million Anthony John Group Southpoint development in South Bank.
