Australian television actor Hugh Sheridan is set to headline a free mini festival in Brisbane CBD, as Brisbane Festival takes its 2018 program launch to the street. The public launch party in Queen Street Mall will see Brisbane Festival unveil its full 2018 program, which boasts almost 600 performances – 100 of them free – across 17 venues in September. Joining Sheridan at the launch event is Opera Queensland leading lady Natalie Christie Peluso (The Merry Widow), Queensland’s acclaimed chamber orchestra Camerata, gender-busting drag ensemble YUMMY and the ACPA Gospel Choir, plus dazzling street troupe The Renegades. Award-winning drag superstar Valerie Hex will host the festivities.
