Cinderella and Scheherazade

Queensland Symphony Orchestra presents the Cinderella and Scheherazade Sunday session. The Romantic composers knew that fairy tales will always be popular and made sure many of their large-scale classics had a liberal sprinkling of sprites, wraiths, and princesses. This concert features four fairy tale-inspired pieces to arouse the imagination including: Tchaikovsky’s elegant, lush ballet Sleeping Beauty; Strauss’ waltz Fairy Tales from the Orient; Prokofiev’s irresistible Cinderella; and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, which is a must see for fans of Aladdin and The Arabian Nights.
