Head to QPAC for the new daytime concert series by Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Be charmed by Nimrod, which you will know from films Dunkirk and Elizabeth. Barber’s Adagio is a piece that has been sampled, digitalised, and rearranged endlessly in movies and television such as Platoon, The Elephant Man, and even South Park. Rachmaninov’s Vocalise is one of the composer’s most cherished pieces with its wandering melody poised above pulsing chords. Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker is pure, sweet delight, beloved by audiences. All this and more will be shown on the Sunday session, Lollipops and Swoons.
