Rokstar Salon stylist Evie Golding has been named amongst Australia’s leading new talent as a `Hot Shot’ at the Creative Australian Hair Industry Awards.

Australia’s leading creatives gathered in Sydney on Monday night (June 14) to celebrate the best of the best with the gala AHIA awards night at The Star, with four of Australia’s up and coming stars recognised for their exciting talents and named as AHIA Hot Shots 2021 team members.

With the impact of COVID-19 the industry has been faced with unprecedented economic and logistical challenges, but 2021 brings renewed positivity and solidarity as salons begin to rebuild and reconnect. One of the most hotly awaited moments of the night was the announcement of the winners of the coveted spots on the Hot Shots team for 2021.

The Hot Shots program is renowned for providing the industry’s brightest up and coming talent, aged under 30, an incredible platform to learn from industry icons and take their hairdressing to exciting new heights. Judges look for young hairdressers who excel in the areas of cutting, styling, editorial and colour work, have a unique style, unparalleled passion and a clear vision of the future. All finalists were expertly judged by hair royalty including Brad Ngata, Dee Parker Attwood, Jayne Wild, Justin Pace, Ali Holmes, Benni Tognini and more.

The winners for 2021 are: Evie Golding- ROKSTAR (QLD), Eliza Andrews – Royals Hair (NSW), Leanne Kay – Stevie English Hair (NSW) and Scott James Sheehy – Toni & Guy Newtown (NSW).

Launched in 2012 by esteemed trade visionaries Mocha Publishing, the Australian Hair Industry Awards (AHIA’s) are celebrating their 10th year as the trusted national award platform which provide a benchmark of excellence across both specialist and individual educational and business categories and this event marks the inaugural year that the Creative categories have been given their own awards program.

MC’d by Creative Director, Host and Media Personality Adam Williams the evening saw 700 of the most talented hairdressers and their salon teams watching on as 17 awards were announced. The gala festivities opened with ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’- an incredible choreographed circus extravaganza featuring Ring Master Adam with his cast of 20 dancers, aerialists and models, alongside a creative hair show.
