Seeking a remedy for stress and the opportunity to reset herself, Marilyn Kleemann ventured into the outback on a journey of physical, mental, and emotional healing. Eight months on, she shares what she discovered.
Fear. It paralyses passion and halts purpose.
We have all experienced fear of varying degrees but in the context of creating lifestyle change to move towards one’s desires, fear can halt the flow, just like drought slowly stops the flow of rivers. I have recently had some incredible ideas flow into my consciousness, ideas that will change the way business owners view themselves and their employees. To get from where I am now, to manifesting my passion and purpose filled ideas into reality, will mean laying a strong solid foundation, both personally and professionally. This will take time, patience and determination to expand my comfort zone and break through old conditioning patterns that keep me locked into mediocrity.
The fears and doubts that have raised themselves within my thoughts have caused me to become overwhelmed with the leap from here to there. These thoughts paralysed me for a short time which completely dried up the flow of inspiration and allowed fear to overrule almost my every action. Fear and feeling scared lead to more doubts and less action, less opportunities. This cycle will simply continue, if I let it.
However, once I realised my fears were simply myself allowing my thoughts to run off in a tangent and were not based on any facts whatsoever, I became less overwhelmed. I was able to logically and rationally create a step by step process of small actions leading to the bigger picture. The river is flowing again. If fear, doubt, procrastination, self-distraction and overwhelm are damming up the flow of your river of purpose and passion, take comfort in knowing your thoughts are not facts. You can easily turn them around by asking yourself, “What if I could do this?” “What impact would I make if I follow through with my ideas?” “What would I be teaching my children if I move outside of my comfort zone to create this opportunity?” “What legacy will I be leaving to my grandchildren?”
Remember, an idea is never given to you, without you being given the power to make it a reality.
