Fish Lane Festival, taking place Saturday 12 May from midday until late in South Brisbane’s Grey Street, has announced its food lineup. The vibrant laneway will play host to food lovers with a combination of favourites and fresh additions providing signature dishes and gourmet eats to the streets. The ever-evolving precinct will come alive once more as a hub of food, drink, art and music for Brisbane foodies and festival fans alike.
The lane will be filled with sampling and sharing dishes from pop-up kitchens, complements with bars ranging from boutique craft beers, to cocktails and fine wines. Food choices will include international and local cuisine, from authentic Japanese Yakitori prepared by Bird’s Nest, West End to traditional Greek yiros and honey puffs from 5 Sisters Cafe. Festival favourite Billykart will be serving cheeseburgers and pork sliders, served up by the team behind newly opened Billkart Bar. 2017 newcomers, Chu The Phat will return with their steamed duck buns and spicy pork brioche while The Fox Hotel have stepped up with both a burger and a pizza bar, which also includes vegan nuggets.
Gelato Messina have once again concocted a specialty sundae exclusively for the festival. American inspired s’mores and brownie cookies from 31 Degrees and acai whip sundaes from Kiss The Berry are also on the menu. Last year the Gnocchi Pomodero from Julius Pizzeria sold out in record time, so make sure you get in early to snag it up along with their crispy, cheesy arancini balls and an all new rigatoni with beef shoulder ragu. Ol’ School will be serving up seafood and hand cut chips while Nom on Melbourne dish up Middle-Eastern inspired lamb kofta, salad boxes and hummus plate. Oktoberfest arrives early with Saccharomyces Beer Cafe and their Mexican inspired street corn.
Festival goers can drink, dance and dine under the vibrant artworks that adorn either side of the lane.
