gather. Festival is a community gathering of artists hosted by St. Ita’s Primary School celebrating people involved in the creation of masterpieces by young, old and free-spirited, with the opening night of the festival set to take place on Friday 3 August.
The biennial event welcomes all to attend and explore the many displays coming together such as an art exhibition, Fine Arts Student Award, pop up artisan market and children’s workshops. The gather.Exhibition will open the festival with a bang with the show representing up and coming Brisbane artists with entries open for fine art students from 2nd year through to those who graduated in 2015. The exhibit will also be open through the festival offering community members the opportunity to access well-priced artwork from emerging artists and local commercial galleries.
Exploring further into the festival, one will find creative workshops offering a chance for kids to delve into their imagination and find inspiration. The gather.Market will celebrate local artisans will offer a wide selection of artistic goodies with handmade wares, plants and crafts being available for purchase. A stunning installation will be the centerpiece in the seating area where families and friends can relax and enjoy the food, beverages and entertainment. There will also be a Kid Zone promising fun activities, snacks and rides.
