There’s no better place to call home than Brisbane’s West End, according to three couples who have relocated from within the suburb, from young professionals to empty nesters.

On a quest to secure their dream riverside apartments, Michael and Vicki Brandon, Anthony and Penny Mewing and Nikki Pilcher and Lars Kuhnke all have one thing in common – they wouldn’t live anywhere but the 4101 postcode. With some having moved within West End up to three times, it’s easy to see why they’re hanging around, with the local apartment market in high demand.

“We love it here and wouldn’t live anywhere except West End,” Vicki Brandon said. “Michael and I wanted to get out of suburbs and we chose West End because of the lovely restaurants and facilities while also being close to city. We moved here in 2016 and in November last year, moved into our top floor apartment within the Enclave community, one block back from the river.”

Leaving their large suburban block for West End in 2019, Anthony and Penelope also moved into a Skyhome in Enclave in late 2022, a masterplanned residential community by developer Pradella. “We love West End and Enclave is in a really good position,” Anthony said. “Just about everything you need is within walking distance – coffee, shops, bars, restaurants and the bus. Our favourite thing to do is visit the West End Markets which is a short walk away,” he said.

Having previously resided within two of Pradella’s Riverside West End communities, Nikki Pilcher said her and Lars love the location of their latest apartment purchase, The Lanes, after wanting a spatial upgrade without compromising on location. “Being this close to Montague Markets and all the stores and services is invaluable. We don’t really need to rely on having a car. We just cannot fault the lifestyle here.”
