Yoga and meditation studio Just Be.Space founded by Tal Derhy has opened in West End. Located at 359 Montague Road above WholeHealth Pharmacy and Healthfoods, the grand opening is set to take place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June, from 9am to 4pm.

The grand opening will include introductory yoga or dance classes for approximately 35 to 40 minutes per class, and guided by an international team of instructors with over 60 years of combined experience. The studio will also host a full free weekend program open to the public, with free yoga classes every hour from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and 9am to 2pm on Sunday. Sarah Jane Michaels, boasting the title The Wholefoods Queen, will be hosting cooking presentations as well. Sarah is a multi-certified practitioner, whose experience spans more than 30 years in the wellness and yoga industries.

Tal describes how he came to find his way to meditative practice. “Nine years ago I awoke in a hospital bed, paralysed from the neck down,” Tal said. “The life I had loved, driven by travel, partying and hard work, had exploded in a single spectacular and devastating moment. I had no choice but to evaluate the path that had led me to this place, and when I learned I would one day be able to walk again, I knew and promised that each step would honour the second chance I’d been given”. Tal’s recovery process led him to deepen his relationship with self and discover the ancient movement meditation practice of yoga.

The studio provides a fresh and beautiful space where clients are invited to engage, connect and ultimately just be. Combining all round wellness into daily life and practice is something the founders are excited to share with the community.
