Hospitality powerhouse Louise Sugars has returned to her West End roots in her newly appointed role as the General Manager at distinguished South Brisbane venue, The Greek Club.  The 47-year old establishment known for its authentic Hellenic hospitality has hosted more than 40,000 events, meetings and conferences to date, including Sugars’ Year 12 high school formal.

With many fond memories bound to the vibrant inner city suburb, Sugars is excited to create unforgettable experiences for guests. Sugars says she is thrilled to officially become a part of The Greek Club family as it gives her an opportunity to give back to the community that gave her so much. “The Greek Club is built on a tightknit community with many initiatives such as St Nicholas Nursing Home, GOC St George Greek School, GOC CARE Aged and Community Care Services and the GOC Childcare Centre – I look forward to continuing this legacy,” she said. “West End is tied to so many of my favourite memories and I’m excited to work with a team that is dedicated to creating special moments for others.  Whether it be corporate events, weddings, formals, intimate celebrations or a family dinner at Nostimo Restaurant Bar, housed in the club, we will go above and beyond to ensure it is a special experience.”

With more than 35 years of experience at leading hotels and sporting clubs including Hilton and Hyatt Hotels, Queen Adelaide Club and Wynnum Golf Club, the West End born local has plans to propel the recently renovated Club into the number one venue in Brisbane. “What makes The Greek Club different to other venues is we welcome everyone with open arms; this is our home and we want to make sure you are treated like family in true Greek style,” she said. “We’ve recently undergone a stunning $3 million refurbishment which has elevated us into a new era, however our heart and soul remains the same.” Sugars replaces former General Manager Andrew Tambakis who drove the refurbishment and was with the Club for more than 20 years.
