Jose Barroso is a proud third generation West Ender and his wife Phoebe is a local to West End of 30 years.

“We both went to West End State School and Brisbane State High and have recently welcomed our first child Louis amongst the COVID pandemic,” Jose said. “During the brunt of COVID lockdown and having a newborn to look after we were living in our newly renovated family home on Boundary Street (the cute cottage with the pink door, opposite Hope Street Kitchen).

“We noticed the countless hours Micah Projects were putting in feeding and housing members of the community in need and due to our baby being days old we couldn’t risk volunteering to assist those in need during those tough times.

“Now that everything has settled down slightly we have brain stormed ideas on how we could give back to the community and in particular Micah Projects and we came up with the idea to create some charity t-shirts “Love 4101”. We have printed these locally through the T-Shirt Mill and have contacted various businesses in West End and approximately 10 businesses are stocking these shirts for sale for $30 with 100 per cent of the profit being donated to Micah Projects.

Places where Love 4101 T-Shirts can be purchase are Avid Reader, Bosc. West End, Posto Cafe, Superthing Bakery, Hope Street Cafe on Boundary Street, Gala Thai, La Macelleria, The Rumpus Room Bar and from Jose and Phoebe at Barroso Building. “The businesses stocking them have received really good feedback and they are becoming very popular!!” Jose said.
