LUMINOUS Lantern Parade back for its 15th?year, lighting up the streets of South Bank on Friday, June 10, in a stunning display of support for the state’s multicultural communities and new Queenslanders?– from migrants and refugees, to international students and people seeking asylum.
Organised by?Multicultural Australia, the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade is now an iconic larger than life event, held in conjunction with Queensland Day (6 June) to celebrate Queensland’s birthday and our unique culture, heritage, people, places and industries.
The spectacular lantern procession begins at 6pm near the Flowstate at South Bank and ends at the South Bank Piazza for a vibrant World Music concert, where hundreds of performers and lanterns (including lantern crowd favourites: the impressive seahorse, owl, giraffe, Rainbow Serpent, and ones the shape of iconic Brisbane landmarks like the Story Bridge and City Hall) will be on display.
The free event also includes the World Music concert from 6:45 pm, with an impressive line-up for multicultural performers set to wow the audience.
