Held at Lightspace Brisbane, the evening was a showcase of a selection of the very best films in multiple categories including music video, short film, and documentary. This year, Best Music Video was awarded to student director Marcel Lim for his work with Brisbane band 4740 and their song HappiDaze. Judges described Marcel’s work as “ethereal and a visual feast” and “a stunning tribute to Brisbane’s LGBTI community”. Marcel also won Best TVC/Branded Content for his Video Profile of Penske’s Neal Richardson, claiming two of the five undergraduate award categories. Other undergraduate categories include Best Short Film, Best Documentary and Best Digital Postcard.

Marcel said he is grateful to have been awarded these titles. “Honestly so grateful,” said Marcel. “Thank you to everyone who had a part in these two projects and anyone who has ever believed and supported me. Thank you to Lachlan Harris who has been my rock since day one, to my sister who is the most supportive sister anyone could ask for, and my parents for sticking with me and teaching me how hard work does pay off.”
