The annual Mater Footy Finals Lunch focuses on all things footy in the lead up to the finals season. Lead by a panel of sporting icons including former Brisbane Bronco Corey Parker, AFL great Alastair Lynch, former Australian Rugby Union Player Drew Mitchell and Fox sports presenter Hannah Hollis, attendees were welcome to shoot some serious sporting questions to those who know best. The yearly sell-out event also heard from Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane Manager Greg McGahan about the exceptional care his team provides young people.
Held this year at the iconic Queensland Cricketers Club attendees were given an insight into how the Mater Group works across health, education and research to make a positive impact on the community. The Mater Foundation is the community-based fundraising organisation that supports the work of Mater Group across health, education and research. This years fundraising initiatives for the luncheon included Heads and Tails Competition and an auction selling a variety of prizes from footy experiences to Melbourne Cup tickets.
