Ooh La La – Brisbane’s newest rooftop bar is launching soon in the heritage area of Woolloongabbaand it’s So Frenchy and So Chic!

Located at 609 Stanley Street, Woolloongabba at C’est Bon Restaurant & Bar, Ooh La La is Brisbane’s newest inner city urban rooftop and will officially be launching to the public at 3pm on Friday 2 July.

Since the relaunch of C’est Bon after an extensive renovation in 2019, it could be presently classed as the most whimsical yet authentic French restaurant in Brisbane and now with the impending launch of its new rooftop area, the Woolloongabba neighbourhood will be gaining the ultimate urban space, with activities and events planned for the chic spot predicted to be sell-outs.

Open from 3pm Friday to Sunday, Brisbanites can Salut to their weekend with a cocktail, wine, French Bar snacks, paint and sip sessions, or even yoga. Enter via the rear laneway/carpark and take the steps a few levels up where Ooh La La will be revealed. Housing a designated bar, the space seats – accommodates 45 guests cocktail style and is also available for private events.  Imagine a cocktail party under the stars – Tres magnifique!

Perch alongside Stanley Street and take in the views and whisk yourself away to the streets of Bordeaux, in a cool heritage area of Brisbane. With a variety of seating options available including standard and high tables, Ohh La La will offer a stunning space in Winter and also a fabulous Spring/Summer spot, beckoning a long rosé session.

Designed by JDA Co., a small studio-based Brisbane practice that specialises in remote complex projects in Australia and overseas, the modern addition to C’est Bon was carefully designed under strict Heritage laws, says director James Davidson. “We designed the structure to maintain character and form but brought in the new elements to give the space a new lease on life, while making sure it could co-exist amongst the existing elements and not obscuring the original 1900s facade.  We positioned the bar to the east to provide a beautiful bird’s eye view over Mater Hill and The Gabba. It’s a gorgeous spot that pays tribute to the building’s history but starts a new story for it. We’re so proud to be a part of its new chapter,” added Davidson.

With the rooftop launch delayed due to COVID, Executive Chef and Owner Andy Ashby says they are eager to offer Brisbane another irresistibly French venue for guests to gather and enjoy contemporary French bar snacks and a delectable wine and signature cocktail list. “We are so excited to have a multi-level venue that has the ability to transport diners away to the setting that they choose and offer experiences that will only be elevated with our carefully curated menus and cellar selections,” says Ashby.
