The Queensland Symphony Orchestra welcomed Venezuelan double-bass player Edicson Ruiz, along with Music Director Alondra de la Parra, to the stage for the final Maestro Series concert of 2018, Beethoven’s Heroic Symphony at QPAC on Thursday 25 October. The harmonious and rhythmic concert featured one of Beethoven’s most celebrated works, the Eroica symphony; Mozart’s traditional three-movement template for the Paris Symphony concert; and the world premiere of Oscher’s lively and inventive Double Bass Concerto, which left the audience breathless.
