On Saturday, 12 October, Queensland Symphony Orchestra along with Brisbane’s own internationally acclaimed violinist, Ray Chen, performed to a delighted sold-out crowd on Saturday 12 October in the QPAC Concert Hall. The Ray Chen Returns concert featured pieces by Bach and Mendelssohn, performed by Chen on the 1715 ‘Joachim’ Stradivarius violin, once owned by the famed Hungarian violinist, Joseph Joachi. The audience enjoyed two outstanding encores, the Presto from Vivaldi’s Summer and Chen’s own arrangement of Waltzing Matilda for solo violin.
