Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s spring season is pulling out all the stops with a line-up of unmissable orchestra concerts ranging from the most classic of classics to blockbuster movie music. “There is beauty in hearing music in its purest form. In Ray Chen Returns on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October, Queensland’s own violin master returns to Brisbane for a delectable program that includes Mendelssohn’s glorious Violin Concerto. Music Director Alondra de la Parra takes audiences on an orchestral romp through a delightful selection of music for the child in all of us in Toys and Puppets on Sunday 27 October. Another superstar violinist Nemanja Radulovic will appear with Alondra on Friday 1 November in the sure to be a sell-out concert Tchaikovsky and Beethoven. On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 November, Alondra will conduct her final QSO concert, Timeless, together with pianist Paul Lewis, topping off a spectacular and much acclaimed partnership with the Orchestra.

Finally, showing that orchestra music is alive and well in the cinema, Cinematic on Saturday 30 November features some of the greatest movie music of all time including Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Avengers, and more!
