Queensland Symphony Orchestra presents a diverse program this winter at QPAC Concert Hall. Russian Marvels will showcase some of the country’s finest composers on Saturday 14 July. Be transported as musicians traverse the emotional landscape in three moving works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Shostakovich.
Fancy an evening of fun and famous tunes? On Thursday 9 August, grab your Union Jack and join the annual (Not) the Last Night of the Proms concert. Prepare to swoon at Love and Other Catastrophes, a mid-morning concert on Sunday 19 August with ravishing music from some of the world’s favourite dramatic operas. Join the Bernstein at 100 party, a musical celebration of superstar composer Leonard Bernstein on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August. For these special occasions the Orchestra will perform a feast of Bernstein hits, including music from his beloved West Side Story. On Thursday 6 September, marvel at Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, an iconic work made (even more) famous as the accompaniment to Colin Firth in The King’s Speech.
