Elton John fans can rest assured that the highly anticipated movie Rocketman is nothing short of laughter, toe-tapping tunes, and tears. The biopic begins with Elton John (Taron Egerton) at an alcoholics anonymous meeting. The movie cleverly incorporates Elton’s tunes through smooth scene transitions, spontaneous dances, and live performances that will force the audience to sing along.

As quickly as Elton rises to fame, he falls. His struggle to accept his sexuality, and a disappointing encounter with his father, causes Elton to turn to drugs and alcohol to mask his pain. Finally, the emotional rollercoaster steadies, and the audience sees Elton overcome all of his issues in a satisfying ending.

Rocketman is an uncensored account of the trials and tribulations of Elton John’s life. The well-casted movie will leave the audience with a newfound appreciation for the singer.
