Calling all sustainable fashion fans! Brisbane City Council presenting Revive Second-Hand Fashion Festival at the Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm, on Sunday 25 October 2020. Revive is a free event, however it is ticketed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all attendees and workers.

The fun, fashion focused program of activities will feature markets, runway shows, workshops, live entertainment as well as delicious bites from some of Brisbane’s best food trucks. Textile waste is a growing problem, with 6000 kilograms of unwanted clothing being sent to landfill every 10 minutes in Australia. Be inspired to incorporate more pre-loved fashion into your wardrobe while helping to reduce your impact on landfill and saving money.

What’s sewing on? Learn how to upcycle a pair of leggings, scarf or fabric into cute hair accessories, use simple techniques to transform a tablecloth into a circle skirt, and make your old jeans “pop” with patches. Hands on workshops will all be held at Revive Second-hand Fashion Festival, running for 50 minutes with all equipment and materials supplied. No prior sewing or upcycling experience needed.

Those wanting to attend Revive can book a three-hour ticket to gain entry in the following time slots: 9am to 12pm, 12.30pm to 3.30pm, and 4 to 7pm. General admission tickets are available as well as workshop tickets for Hair Accessories, Make Your Old Jeans Pop, and Tablecloth to Circle Skirt.

Please note, a condition of taking part in this event is to provide full details for each attendee, as part of the event producers and Council’s COVID Safe Plan. The safety and wellbeing of all attendees and workers is the highest priority. For more information about Revive Second-hand Fashion Festival 2020, go to Brisbane City Council’s website.
