You could be forgiven for thinking that Christmas has come early this year – because it will sure feel like it when you enter the glamorous, glittery, glowing tinsel wonderland that is Brisbane’s latest bar and event space, The Tinsel Bar, which threw open its doors on Friday 18 October.

This incredibly instagramable venue is taking guests back into an adult-friendly space of childhood wonder, with its quirky, tinsel-y decor, nostalgic treats including Popping Candy and Push Pops, and sweet and savoury culinary delights that are as fun as their boozy counterparts. The exciting collaboration between restaurateur Maris Cook (of Maeve Wine and Hello Please ) and the queen of tinsel herself, Rachel Burke (@imakestagram), has been long-anticipated by their fans. The idea behind the novel bar, completely decked out in tinsel, neon light features, and throwback food offerings – including fairy bread and bolognese toasties – will see patrons embracing the carefree and celebratory atmosphere that The Tinsel Bar embodies.

Always party ready, the space is ideal for everything from birthdays to hens nights during the week, and will also host regular art and craft themed events hosted by Rachel Burke herself. Located at 58 Hope St, South Brisbane, The Tinsel Bar lies on the cusp of Fish Lane and will be a vibrant new addition to Brisbane’s cultural Precinct. During the day the space will double as The Tinsel Deli, open from 9AM – 2PM, specialising in freshly-made specialty sandwiches, toasties, salads and juices. And let’s be honest – who doesn’t need a little more tinsel in their lives?
