Brisbane’s top restaurants are once again joining forces with Foodbank Queensland to fight hunger and to celebrate World Food Day. The annual cocktail and dining fundraiser will be hosted on Saturday, 19 October at the Foodbank Queensland warehouse in Morningside.

Long-time supporters of Foodbank Queensland, Javier Codina from MODA Restaurant, PJ McMillan from Harveys and Manny Sakarellarkis from Enoteca will be joined by Rob Brady from Signature Restaurant, Emporium Hotel and Matteo Zini from La Macelleria Gelateria. Guests will be treated to an Italian inspired menu created exclusively for Foodbank Queensland by the supporting restaurants.

Andy Georges from Mr & Mrs G’s Riverbar will be creating exclusive Italian inspired cocktails using the finest spirits at the Hemingway Bar. Craft brewers Green Beacon Brewing will supply a selection of handcrafted beers and ales, whilst guests can also enjoy MOET Champagne and the finest wines.

Thanks to the support of The Prop House, who will be supplying everything from statues, lights and quintessential Italian props, the Foodbank warehouse will be transformed into a rustic Italian piazza for guests to enjoy the finest Italian food. Along with delicious food and drinks, guests will also be treated to music from Latin Mafia who will be playing the rhythms and beats of Italy to create a festival-like atmosphere to dance away the night.

The World Food Day evening is an opportunity for Foodbank Queensland to raise awareness of the growing problem of food insecurity across the state. Despite helping nearly 200,000 Queenslanders a month, more than 12,000 people are turned away each month because Foodbank’s charity partners are struggling to keep up with the demand. Every ticket sold is the equivalent of donating 300 meals to Foodbank Queensland and will help fight hunger across the state.
