Registrations for this year’s QMusic’s Industry Connect Workshops have now opened to Queenslander’s interested in building a sustainable career in the music industry. Developed by Queensland’s music industry development association QMusic, Industry Connect is designed by experienced music industry professionals for those 15 years and older.

The six free workshops will take participants through the process of setting up a music industry business, build the knowledge and relationships they need to succeed and releasing songs into the market. Topics covered include digital marketing, distribution, publicity and more, delivered by well known facilitators, including publicists, artist managers, A&R reps, music strategists and producers and CEO of QMusic, Joel Edmondson, who also produces Bigsound. Participants will be considered for exclusive showcase opportunities as well as have their music heard by A&R reps from Australian record labels. Six attendees who participate in all workshops will be able to apply for exclusive travel grants to attend Bigsound 2018.

Since launching in 2017, the program is complemented with exclusive travel grants and festival performance opportunities for musicians and has helped more than 500 practitioners navigate the contemporary music industry landscape. The program is expanding to Toowoomba, Ipswich, Maroochydore and Noosa for the first time and returning to Cairns, Brisbane, Nambour and the Gold Coast in 2018.
