The month of November is set to be a paw-sitive one with the 2018 Brisbane Dog Lovers Show debuting its first Common Woof Games at the Brisbane Showgrounds, from 3 to 4 November.

Animal lovers will see a plethora of pooches competing in K9-fusion sports including vault, basketball, and barrell racing. The Common Woof Games will commence with a spectacular Opening Ceremony Extravaganza, and victorious canines will be presented with their medals as part of the Official Closing Ceremony in the Royal Canine Arena at the end of each day. In addition to a day of fun for our furry four-legged friends, the event will also play host to various free educational talks on the all new Pet Circle Stage from some of Australia’s most popular celebrity vets, such as Alex Hynes, Dr Harry Cooper, and Dr Katrina Warren.

With more than 150 exhibitors and stacks of exclusive show specials and free samples, pet owners are bound to be spoilt for choice, from dog friendly accommodation, beds, and clothing, to pet doors, food, travel services, treats, vets and walkers.

Another exciting addition to the event will be the all new Dog Adoption Stage that will provide an opportunity for rescue groups to get up and talk about adoption, outline what is really involved and help to connect loving, well-suited homes to the countless dogs Brisbane shelters currently have available for adoption. Dog devotees will delight in the diverse range of hounds, with more than 400 canines representing more than 100 breeds. From Beagles and Bulldogs, to Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Rottweilers, there truly is a pooch for everyone to pat in the Breed Showcase. For all those burning questions head to the Ask-A-Breeder Stage presented by Dogs Queensland as more than 20 reputable breeders talk about the temperament, grooming routines, exercise and nutrition requirements of their dogs.

The Brisbane Dog Lovers Show will also provide ample opportunities for the young and young at heart to get licked, loved and slobbered on in the Pat-A-Pooch Zone, where they can lounge on giant beanbags and meet breeds of all shapes and sizes, including puppies, rescue dogs, service and therapy dogs.

With a vast array of events available for all fur-kids and their paw-rents, this event is sure to be a great day out for dog lovers.
