West End’s very own Kabana Shop, a vibrant and creative bohemian resort wear emporium, launched in October.

The store, located on Cameron Street, is a new mecca for bohemian fashion. The Kabana Shop presents a new take on the brick and mortar shopping experience with the inclusion of a small café, personal stylist and frequent workshops and events, says brand strategist Christie Sutherland. Kabana Shop features Australian designed clothing and organic wellness products that are anticipated to impress locals and visitors, she said. The store boasts creativity, inspired fashion and wholesome wellness and beauty finds that are designed to awaken your senses.

The Kabana Shop team has wandered the souks, bazaars and small villages of the world to find inspiration to bring together lifestyle delights and a bohemian everyday fashion. The pieces are reminiscent of global cultures such as Morocco, India and Indonesia. Fair trade pieces from makers across the globe adorn the shelves of Kabana Shop and luminous fabrics line the exposed brick walls. The store includes a hole in the wall café that aims to make the shopping experience more convenient for catching up with friends or satisfying a sweet tooth with a brownie, pastry or even a fresh Harvest juice. “The café is the social point of meeting in the store and an aspect that adds to the warmth and fun of our brand,” said Sutherland. The team at Kabana sees the store as a space that can be used for enjoying unique activities, holding workshops and events that align with the store’s values. “The workshops are DIY craft based and are enjoyed by all levels of talent. Our events are style advice driven to ensure our customers have all the tools they need to curate the looks they love from head to toe with confidence,” she explained.

With the belief that “beauty and wellness rests within nature,” the beauty products sourced are each formulated from natural ingredients and are free of parabens, fillers and toxins and are cruelty free. The carefully curated range encourages the development of peaceful self-care routines, she said. The clothing is designed to be versatile and fitting of a busy schedule to complement its wearer’s journey through the maze of life. In fitting with Kabana Shop’s sustainability goals, the clothing has been designed with the intention that it will be loved for seasons to come. Sutherland describes this season’s selection as “breezy dresses and blouses with brilliant colour — the pieces key to a perfect holiday style” that takes you “from the beach to the bar.” The collection has been curated for much needed versatility and comfort during the summer season.

Tyler Swan, personal stylist and fashion designer, is at the West End store on Tuesdays to provide complimentary advice to customers. While one can simply pop in to say hello and ask a question, the stylist’s services can be booked to reserve a one-on-one experience. Kabana Shop is Brisbane’s newest mecca for Australian designed brands Rubyyaya, LulaSoul and Lulalife that showcase a sustainable and stylish bohemian lifestyle.
