It has long been the word on the street that one of Brisbane’s best burgers is at West End’s Billykart. Billykart owners Ben Roberts and well known chef Ben O’Donoghue are taking their unbeatable burger, crossing the road, and opening a venue dedicated to the not-so-humble morsel. Set to open next week, say hello to Bender’s Bar- South Brisbane’s new neighbourhood pub with a tidy menu of burgers and snacks (as well as some fancy collaborative burgers).

Switching on the grills in the space formerly occupied by Copperface Jacks and Da Burger, Bender’s Bar is set to be a more casual offering from the Billykart team, allowing them to develop the culinary profile across the road without losing the much-loved fan favourite. Menu highlights at Bender’s include old faithful the Billykart Burger, a fish burger with ranch dressing, avo and lettuce, and beer-battered pickles and jalapeno poppers.

In keeping with the venue’s more relaxed structure, the team is committed to establishing the price point at Bender’s Bar as wallet-friendly- a move that’s sure to establish the spot as a regular watering hole for locals and those on the pilgrimage for the perfect patty alike.

Like all good pubs, Bender’s Bar will play host to trivia nights, live music and DJs, live sports broadcasting and weekly specials, and there’ll be room for more than 80 burger- biters. As for the name? It’s Ben O’Donoughue’s long standing nickname!
