Nine months into business, entertainment provider Escape Manor officially launched its Brisbane location on Thursday 22 March, and has already reached number two on TripAdvisor’s best Brisbane activities list, second only to the South Bank Parklands. The official grand opening of Escape Manor Brisbane featured previews into the custom rooms: The Asylum, The Covenant and the unveiling of two brand new rooms The Wine Cellar and Death Row.

Topping Brisbane’s escape room experiences on the travel and restaurant comparison website, Escape Manor has hosted teams from Queensland Police forensics and child protection, sport stars and musicians such as Lifehouse. Escape Manor is a game-based activity where a group of friends or colleagues are locked up in a themed room and given 45 minutes to escape. Players have to search the room they are locked in, find clues, solve puzzles, and find the key to get out before the clock hits zero.

Escape Manor Mastermind Peter Courtney says the brand’s success is based on its broad appeal to families, workers and friends all working together to solve a mystery. “Our rooms offer a range of fun mental and physical challenges that are visually immersive and engaging,” Mr Courtney said. “You could be battling the wiles of a lunatic in a 1940’s Asylum or the wit of an evil lawyer in the Covenant. We have seen PhD students struggle and we have seen construction workers set records in our escape rooms.”

Escape Manor Brisbane is a partnership between local couple Kelley and Peter Courtney and four entrepreneurs in Canada. “Escape rooms have taken off around the world, places like Moscow have 500 escape rooms! Brisbane is catching up and we are proud to offer locals an exciting experience as part of our official launch.”
