Brisbane Genki Market is now on two Sundays a month. The market is a cross-cultural showcase of arts and crafts, with new and second-hand goods, and amazing street food, all with a uniquely Asian flavour.

Due to an increased demand for stalls, the market is now being held on two Sundays every month from 10am to 3pm at 123 Charlotte St Brisbane. Brisbane Genki Market regularly updates their Facebook and Instagram with dates. Perfect for gift-shopping with many items under $20, the emphasis is on local, handmade, and artisanal goods.

You can find crocheted creations, jewellery, Japanese-style ceramics, gift cards and handmade journals. There are also young artists selling their own tees and tote bags, sticker sheets and stationery. Some stalls sell houseplants and terrariums as well, and there’s also a stall selling new and preloved vinyl records.

The street food at Brisbane Genki Market has a strong Japanese influence – with stalls selling takoyaki (octopus fritter balls), taiyaki (fish-shaped filled sweet pastry), dango (skewered mochi with a range of flavours and toppings), matcha drinks and cakes being some of the regular favourites.

Many of the market days also feature performances by Brisbane J-pop idol group Melody Parade, appealing to J-pop fans and cosplayers. Brisbane Genki Market takes place right next door to Japanese grocers Genki Mart in Charlotte Street, Brisbane CBD.
