Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and the Italian Consulate co-hosted the 72nd anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Italy on Friday 1 June on QPAC’s Rooftop Terrace. Special guests included Teatro alla Scala General Manager Maria Di Freda, Ballet Director Frédéric Olivieri and star Principal Dancers Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko. Company members were visiting Brisbane in the lead up to Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company’s Brisbane-only performances of Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote (7 to 11 and 17 November) and Giselle (14 to 16 and 18 November) for the 2018 QPAC International Series.
