Creative college JMC Academy has announced the opening of a second campus in South Brisbane.

The $10 million South Brisbane campus is a new eight floor creative education facility at 69 Grey Street.

This additional campus includes a new library, expanded study areas, classrooms, creative collaborative spaces and additional break-out areas. In addition, the campus includes 17 fully equipped practice and ensemble rehearsal rooms spanning across two floors.

JMC Academy’s Head of Music Sean Foran says the new campus will allow performance and songwriting students to better immerse themselves in music making, strengthening the music program as a whole.

“For a student studying music, an environment conductive to regular focused individual practice and group rehearsal sessions is essential,” said Sean.

JMC Academy Founder and Managing Director John Martin Cass believes this campus shows an investment in the future of the creative industries, and shows the belief and confidence in the sector.

“It continues with our commitment to provide our students with ample access to high quality facilities, giving them even greater opportunities to succeed,” said John.

Established in Sydney in 1982, JMC Academy will celebrate its 10th anniversary of the first Brisbane campus on Thursday 15 March, and the launch of the new building will be celebrated at a special event. Official proceedings will begin at 4:30pm, followed by a cocktail reception and rooftop music performance.
