More than 350 participants took to the Brisbane River for the third annual Paddle for Kids dragon boat race on June 15 to raise money for Juiced TV. The event raised more than $119,000 and was a fun family affair with special celebrity appearance from Sam Thaiday, entertainment, food, and of course, dragon boat racing. Teams who participated included Queensland Children’s Hospital nurses, staff and volunteers, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, QSuper, Cardno, and other local businesses. Funds raised will help Juiced TV work towards connecting sick children across the country, giving them the opportunity to watch and participate in Juiced TV, no matter which hospital they are in.
