Perched a few steps away from the Brisbane River, new Brisbane beauty salon Sanctuaire lives up to its name.

With its backdrop of flickering candles, soothing music, and inspirational quotes framed on the walls, it is indeed a sanctuary.

Owner Tina Reardon has converted her Kangaroo Point apartment into a retreat from to do lists and obligations, a space where one arrives for pampering, beauty treatments, and relaxation.

One of the benefits of an in-home spa is the complete privacy — there is no waiting area, there is no clustering beside other spa-goers. At Sanctuaire, it’s just about you.

“I believe in a holistic approach to wellness, feeling and looking good inside and out,” said Tina. “I love to restore confidence and make people smile.”

Tina’s offerings span the complete beauty gamut, from manicures and pedicures to facials to waxing to anti-aging treatments to eyelash extensions to massages. Should you be looking for a full body experience, she also runs a mobile Pilates service, catering to individual, small groups, and corporate sessions in an office. .

We stopped by to experience her signature facial, 50 minutes of cleansing, exfoliation, and massage. To call it relaxing wouldn’t do it justice. It’s 50 minutes devoted entirely to you and Tina’s skillful technique, relaxing muscle you didn’t know were tensed, opening pores, and brightening skin. Though the massage was just restricted to the neck and shoulders, it was a good preview of what to look forward to with a full-body one.

The facial’s only downside? It has to end.

Tina explains that her passion for beauty comes from her own struggles with clear skin when she was younger — now, her flawless complexion is a testament to the quality of the products she uses on her clients. For Tina, a facial isn’t constrained to just an hour: instead, it should result in long-term benefits. She walked me through some of her go-to products, many of which moisturize all seven layers of skin for lasting moisture and care.

Sanctuaire is one of Brisbane’s new hidden beauty gems, with treatments that don’t just leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, but remind you that self-care isn’t only a treat, but something you deserve.

“Life is short, hectic, and stressful at times and I think it is important to take an hour each week to do something good for yourself,” said Tina.
